McConachy opened up the game by pulling in ofl spot, and running up a useful break off the red. His prowess at losing hazards was fully demonstrated, and mashie shots drew appiause 011 many occasions. His object was not to run up big breaks, but to demonstrate all round billiards. At 25 visits to the table he ran out the game with his breaks averaging 40, his largest being 290. Hemmingsen, who was ob.viously nervous, was 726 at the end of the game.
