WAR MEMORIAL HALL
A meeting of the War Memorial Hall Committee was heid on Wediiesday evening. Mr. R. R. Lind presided and Messrs. R. Hook, V. J. Bateman, J. Sinclair and H. Aitchison were present. Several suggestions were put forward as building sites, and it was decided that the committee endeavour to obtain options on at least three sections and place these before a public meeting to be called later. As the Governmeht intimated that war memorials would be subsidised, and it was possible that the matter would be under consideration during the coming. session of Parliament, it was decided not to approach the public for contributions until some indication as to the amount of the subsidy was given by the Government. Building plans were discussed and members of the committee are tojnspect, several iikely buildings to obtain information and plans to place before the public of Shannon as their memorial hall.
