TE HORO WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
A pleasanit afternoon took place recently in 'the Te Horo Hall. when : members of the Women's Institute met to horiour Mrs. B. Catley, who i had .been their secretary for five ! years. . It was a very successful : afternoon and everyone thoroughj ly enjoyed it. The . programme was l.varied and included songs by Miss j D Avery,,- .recit^fiqns by Mrs; L [ Stapies .and /duets ' by "MesdamesJ Ciarke .and Styles, while a "Yes-i No" competition caused much ; | merriment. j Mrs. D. Grant;- in a happy little | speech, expressed members' appreciation of Mrs. Ca-tley's wiiiing and well-run' • services during her term of oflice, and thqp presented to her j on behalf of members a silver \ powder, bowl. Mr§. Johnson (Levin) , a past presidentV "also handed her a bouquet of poppies, while Mrs. C. Sutton 's outsize ■ vegetable bouquet brought forth a hearty laugh. Mrs. | Catley thanked all for their gifts, ! and also for the kindness and con-j sideration shown during her term of oflice. She wished the organisa- * tion every success in the future. A tasty afternoon tea was theni served.
