INDOOR BASKETBALL
PLAY AT ITS BEST Considerable interest is being aisplayed in the game of basketball at Otaki, and the promoters of this popular pastime are to be commended for providing sport for such - a number of young people. Play-was at its best at the Railway Hall on Wednesday night, when -110 .less than fourteen teams competed. Play was of a high order, the membcrs showing greatly improved form. Following are the results-: — ^Men's competition : Railways 12, Eagles 17; Raukawa "A"- 26, Pastimes 8; Aces 34, Raukawa' "B" 4. Ladies' competition: Aces "B" 45, Checkees 8; Checks 6, Raukawa 18; Aces "A" 12, Aces Colts 2; Checkers 11, Textiles 10. Knock-out: Raukawa "A" 39, Aces "B" 9. The following teams are to repi'esent Aces in the basketball flxtures on Saturday: — A grade: E. Brown, B. Edwards, H. Taratoa, B. Baker, M. Quinlivan, D. Scatchard. K. Young, H. Johnson and E. Snowdon. B grade: V, Williams, J. Teta-u, H. Burgess, P. Guthrie, P. Ralph, L. Cockerell, P. Clifton, P. Morgan and B. Eaton. Emergency:- J. Snowdon.
