WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
- LEVIN'S MONTHLY MEETING There was a good attendance of members at the June meeting of the Levin Women's Instilute, Mrs. Xellaway presiding. Members and iriends and visitors from Ihakara, Manakau and Kimberley were welcomed. Apologies were received trom Mesdames Badham, Boiancl, Leach and Grey. Tv.o new members were elected. When the normal business was •concluded, Mrs. Kellaway introduced Mrs. Horn, secretary of the Domijibon! 'FedevaMdnywlw was- the guest> speaker for the afternoon. Mrs. Horn gave a very interesting talk on her experiences in founding Maori Women's Institutes in the far north; the difficulties and pleasures of the work. The speaker displayed several examples of Maori art. Mrs. Kellaway thanked Mrs. Horn, and presented her with a bouqust of fiowers. In nresenting the "Good Service"' badge to Mrs. Blake, the president jpoke of the good work that had jeen done by Mrs. Blake over a ocriod of years, and expressed the oope that she might continue. Mrs. Blake replied suitably. Competition results were as follows: — Fiowers: Mrs. Wilson 1, Mrs. Maughan 2, Mrs. Young 3. Shrub: Mrs. Young 1, Mrs. Griffiths 2, Mrs. Boyer 3. Handwork: Mrs. Lemmon i, Mrs. Maughan 2. Best vegetable: Mrs. Wilson.
