NAPIER, June 12. A thirty-four-year-old mystery — { the disappearance from Gwavas i Statibn, Tikokino, on May 30, 1912, ! of Leo Burnett, aged 18 — is likely to | be cleared up by the discovery of i a partial skeletoil by rabbit shoot- ! ers, on the property, yesterday. j The remains consisted of a skdil - | containing a perfect set of teeth, • ! about 60 bones, a pair of boots, hhd [ a rusted rifle from which the woodI wbrk had rotted away. The boots and rifie correspond : with the description given tne i polibe at the time of the disappearance. The skull was punctured with a small hole, which may have been caused by a bullet. The lapse of thirty-four years is a problem faced by the authoritifes in securing necessary information. A Dominion-wide' search is now' being instigated for persons con- -• nected with the station in 1912.
