TRUCK STRIKES POWER POLE

CHRISTCHURCH, June 7. | One man was incinerated and an- ' other injured when a motor truck coilided with a concrete power pole, near Burnham, about three o'clock this morning and burst into flames. The injured man escaped from the flaming truck, but the other died in the truck, which was destroyed. The occupants were: — Killed ROBERT ARMOUR, single, aged 27, of 71 Jackson's Road, Lyttelton. Injured ALPHA FRANK HAYHURST, single, aged 20, of Sumner Road, Lyttelton. Hayhurst suffered severe shock and suspected concussion. He wa$ admitted to hospital, where his condition this afternoon was re.ported ag satisfactory.
