JENNINGS— COLEY The wedding was solemnised at 3t. Andrew's Presbyterlan Church, Palmerston North, on Saturday, May 25, between Aileen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Coley, jf Shannon, and Noel, second son jf Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Jennings, of Johnsonville, and formerly of Shannon. Rev. J. Hubbard, M.A., 3.D., was the officiating minister, and Mr. C. Fife was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a graceful gown of pearl satin made on fitting lines, with long sleeves, and featured a heart-shaped neckiine, finished with fine tatting sent by the bridegroom's 88-year-old grandmother. Jer beautiful embroidered tulle veil vas held in place with a coronet of vhite flowers, and she wore an imber necklet, sent from overseas, and carried a trailing bouquet of white chrysanthemums, stocks, ilies, fresias and fern. Attending ,he bride was her s^ister, Miss Beryl Coley, wearing a' picture "frock of olue satin ' with a white floral design, which featured a close-fit-fcing bodice and full skirt. Her trailing bouquet was composed of autumn tinted chrysanthemums, freesias and maidenhair fern. The oest man was Mr. W. Third, of Shannon. The reception was held in the Grange Hall, where sorne 80 guests were entertained. They were received by Mr. and Mrs. Coley, the bride's mother, wearing a wine frock under a green coat, with a wine hat, brown accessoriess and a ihoulder spray to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Jennings assisted, the latter vearing a maroon frock under a .awn coat, maroon toque and brown accessories, with a shoulder spray to tone. Mr. J. Pirovano was a genial toastmaster, and the guests : enthusiastically honoured the usual toasts. The wine glasses used by the young couple were over 100 years old, and were handed down from the bridegroom's grandmother, this couple being the first to use them. A handsome twotiered wedding cake, topped with a ■•ilver vase of white chrysanthemums lent by Mrs. J. Jennings, of Shannon, held pride of place on the bridal table. The happy couple were the recipients of numerous wedding gifts, including several cheques. The bridegroom's gifts to the bride md brldesmaid were gold-nibbed fountain pens, and to the best man ii chromium plated tortoiseshell hat Drush. Prior to her wedding, the )ride was entertained at the Moutoa Hall. When the bride appeared for n'avelling she was wearing a brown frock under "a honey gold coat, with i matching hat and brown accessories. After a three weeks' tour of he West Coast of the South Island, vfr. and Mrs. Jennings will make ,heir home in Shannon. Among the guests were Meslames N. Hyde, of ' Marton, W. Pet2rs, of Hunterville, and J. Pirovano, of Levin, aunts of the bride, and also Mrs. J. Coley, of Hunterville. Relatives of the bridegroom present were Mr. and Mrs. Silcox, of Johnsonville, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jennings, Shannon, and Mr. and Mrs. Sissons, of Masterton.
