UNIVERSAL MINIMUM PROPOSED.
WASHINGTON, June 2. _ An International Labour Offiee maritime conference will be held in Seattle ou June G to consider a proposed international treaty for the Jixing of a minimum wage for seamen throughont the world. It is understood that the British aird Ameriean delegates are strongly supporting the fixing of a minimum wage of £1(5 sterling a month. United States Labour Department officials dou 't expect immediate aeeeptanee throughout the world, but are hopeful that a number of eountries will soon ratify the treaty.
