INVERCARGILL, June 1. One of the prefabricated hangars used by the Amerieans in the Pacific is to be made available for use at the Invercargill airport, aecording to information reeeived from the Minister of Defence, Mr.^Jones, who stated that the Government"liacl beefi sueeessful m securing a small number of prefabricated hangars used by the Ameriean forces in the Pacific. A certain amount of expenditure would be incurred in the re-ereetion of the hangar and estimates" for this were at present lieing prepared. It was expected that the work of erecting the hangar at Invercargill would be begun within the next few months.. At present passengers and mails ior the north liave to remain a night m Dunedin. With a hangar to house the plane at Invercargill, a one-day service from Invercargill to Auckland should be possiblo.
