LONDON, May 29. Strange weekend house-parties at Cobham, in Surrey, at which prospective Civil Service oflicials are submitted to gruelling tests to see if they have the right personality for administrative johs, are heing conducted hy a Government examiner, says the ' " E vening Standard. ' ' The candidates are divided into groups under the care of a chairman observer and a psychologist, who remain with them all the weekend, mcluding meal times. Tests for the candidates at a recent party included writing a description of themselves as seen hy a critic and friend, interviewmg each other regarding an imaginary vacancy, making speeches, and answering of q.uesti'ons regarding their background. The organiser said: "The parties are proving the most efficient methoci of selecting the hest men. ' '
