RENOWN THEATRE
^ A film fraught with suspense and rich in expertly drawn characterisations comes to the Renown Theatre on Friday and Saturday. It is the Universal crime drama, "The Suspect," directed by Robert Siodmak and co-starring Charles Laughton and Ella Raines. Laughton is seen as a pleasant, mild-mannered man who is nagged beyond endurance by his shrewish wife, played by Rosalind Ivan, Laughton's unhappiness increases when his son, Dean Harens, leaves hcme because of her. In his loneliness Laughton turns] to young, attractive Ella Raines j and there develops between the two a tender friendship. which is mallciously distorted by Laughton's wife. ... . . J
