HOW IT WAS ANSWERED In 1943, when taxes were as high as ihey coultt get and all spare mo.ney seemed to flow j naturally towards patriotic funds I and War Loans, a group df pro- 1 fessionai and business men in j AucKiand launched a campaigh to j raise £100,00.0 to endow a proiessorial chair in the post-gr&duate sciiool oi obstetrics and gyiiaecology, to be aitached to the AUcKland Hospital for Women, and to appoint thereto a professor of outstahding ability to direct lectures and resbarch iii tnese subjects, which arC of Vital lmportance to womeii and the nation. To date over £5u,uo0 has been subscribed in Auckland itseif and now the campaign has been made a national one and is being taken up tnroughout the Bommion, backecl by leading members of the medical fraternity, by all women's organisations and by a widely-representative group of professionai and busixxcss men. Women's organisations of Levin are sponsoring a short campaign in the town and district, which ■ commenced to-day and coiitinueS until June 8, and during this periocl citizens are invited to subscribe to this grfeat and humahitarian cause.
