The union condeinned proposals to draft strikers into tlie armed forces as the lirst step towards Faseism in the United States. The union contonded President Truman 's proposals were elearly unconstitutional. Mr. Murray telegraplied Senators stating that " in a nioment of wild hvsteria, an attempt was made to stamp'ede through' Congress legislation which had as its sole aim, the destruction of the Ameriean labour movement. The Ameriean Federation of Labour president, Mr. Green, has telegraplied similarly stating that if President Truman 's programme is given effect to, Faseism might grip the United States unawares. "To conipel free workers to reinain 011 the job against their will by drafting them and making them subject to court-martial if they refuse, is slave labour under Faseism," Mr. Green stated. Ile also described the Case Union Control Bill as representing tlie worst type of vengeful hysterical legislation. Workers of the United States would never accept such a onesided law. All would resist the Case Bill and President Truman 's plan to the last breath.
