CAR DRIVER KILLED
GREYMOUTH, May 27. Leonard Grimwood, aged 32, of Riccarton, was lcilled today on the Lewis Pass road when his car, about 45 miles from Reefton, erashed QVer a.'90-foot cliff. ' The oniy passenger, Mrs. Grimwood, aged about 60, motlier of deceased, escaped injury, having apparently been thrown from the car during the descent. Mr. Ron Fitzgibbon, road service driver, with live passeugers from his bus, desccuded the steep incline and lifted the car olf the body of Grimwood which was under water with- a severe head wound. Mrs. Grimwood was later taken on to Cha'istchnrch.
