FOOTBALL INJURIES

♦ Fate treated the Shahnon footballers rather badly over the weekend. Apart from the usual miiior injuries suffered by players, during the games played on Saturday Mr, Fred Callesen had the misfortune to suffer a fracture of the leg during the playing of the junior game at Foxton. First aid treatment was rendered on the field and a doctor was quickly on the scene. Mr. Callesen was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital by ambulance. While participating in football practice on Friday, Mr. Bob Vinsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. .Vinsen, of Vance Street, received an injury to his thigh. As there was no improvement in his condition on Saturday, l\4r. Vinsen was taken to the Palmerston North Hospital for an Xray.
