ONLY TYRES NOW STOP TRADE DELIVERIES
AUCKLAND, May 24. If grocers received new tyres soon for cars they could use for delivery, the public would reeeive a full delivery service, said Mr. II. M. Barker, secretary of tlie Auckland Master Grocers' Association. Tyres could be obtained for delivery vans but many grocers who did not possess vans were Avilling to use their cars now the petroi restrictions had been lifted. Wome grocers now using their cars would be forced to suspend deliveries if tyres were unobtainable. A letter advising that the question of tyres for vehicles engaged in delivery of retail food, had been eonsidered and that a new priority list had been approved, has been received by Mr. Barker from the Minister of Supply, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, th rough the JMinister of Transport, Hon. J. () 'Brien. The list includes provision for these vehicles subject to the demands of dis trict quotas, the letter states, but ii would not be possible to increase the district quotas until further tyres ar* rived in Netv Zealand.
