Miss Nina Bates is spending her holidays with Lavinia Hayfield, of Kent Street, Levin. Mrs. R. Ward and her daughter, Joyce, of New Plymouth, are visitors to their aunt, Mrs. S. Farsons, oi Kent Street/" Levin. Mrs. Noel Hansen and her little daughter, Janice, are visiting their mother and grandmother respectively, Mrs. Hayfield and Mrs. Parsons, of Kent Street, Levin-. Mr. W. H. Welsh, of Beach Road, was elected a vice-president of the Levin branch of the N.Z. National Party at its annual meeting this week, which was attended by some -100 members. Captain K. G. Chamberlain, who last December resigned his office as secretary to the Middle Districts, Aero Club, after having filled the' post for the 15 years since the club's inception, was elected a life member at the annual meeting held in Palmerston North last evening. At the annual meeting of the Levin Racing Club last evening, Mr. F. A. Nicholson, who has retired from the secretaryship after filling the position since 1927, was elected a life member in recognition of his long and faithful service to the club. Mr. A. C. W. Mantell-Harding, oi Wellington, has been elected secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Associati'on. He will succeed Mr. A. H. Richards, of Wellington, who has held the position for the past f our years and who ' will continue as treasurer until the end of the financial year prior to leaving for overseas with the 6th Infantry Brigade. Mr. Mantell-Harding was for six years secretary of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association. He returned to New Zealand in July last year after having been a prisoner of war for 3i years.
