leges be issued and that members pay the admission charge, the object being to assist the Levin R.S.A.'s Memorial Hall fund. was eventually withdrawn by the mover, after discussion, Mr. N. M. Thomson having informed the meeting that, at a meeting of the sub-committee set up by the R.S.A. to co-operate with the club, it was decided to oppose the motion for various reasons. Mr. G. D. Harris suggested that in future the balance sheet be printed and circulated to members two weeks before the annual meeting. A motion to this effect. w.as passed. After some discussion of a suggestion by Mr. W. C. Hannan, tlie meeting decided that a special meeting be held at which a motion "that it be a recommendation to the stewards - that the rules~ be altered so that f our stewards retire each year and be eligible for. re~ election", would be considered. Mr. T. Bevan prop.osed that the retiring president be made a presentation of fifty guineas in appreciation of his long and faithful service. Mr. Walter Ryder had been one of the first members of the club, he said, and had served as a steward for a considerable time before his • election to the presidency. He moved that the presentation be made as a mark of 'the club's appreciation for the work done by Mr. Ryder. Several other members endorsed the speaker's remarks, but- it was considered that the tribute to Mr. Ryder and other members who had given such service, should be in the form of an evening entertainment Mr. Ryder haviiig informed the meeting that he would not accept a monetary reward. The matter was left to the stewards to arrange. Several new members were elected to the club. They were: Messrs. C. Adkin, C. Larsen, I. Park, A. Woollett, F. C. Peach, F. W. Dwyer, T. Merson, R. _ L. Smith and D. Robertson.
