An elderly womau was killed when she fell fi'oin an out ward bound tramjciir i-n Great Nortli Road, New Lynn, i and was niu over by a taxi travelling ' in the same direction to-night. Khe was Mrs, Gecilia Agaies Costall, ageil 70, widow, of Otahuhu. Mrs. Costall was o'n her way to visit a ilephew in Grey Lviin. When tlie tram was still some (listance from her istop she fell from the platforni on to the road way. While she was lying there she was mu over by the wiieels of a taxi following the tram and. was dragged for a (listance of 25ft. She sufl'ered a fractured skull, fractures of botli legs and other ext.ensive injuries t.o the body. The ambulanc.e was sumtnoned but she died before she could be removed to hospital.
