Marc Platt, brilliant young dancing star who made an' auspicious motion picture debut in . "To-night and Every Night," has. been chosen. by Columbia Pictures , as the Tnale dancing, lead opposite, .Rita' Hayworth in the technicolour musical fantasy "Down to Earth" to be produced by Don Hartman and directed by A1 Hall. Coluihbia signed Platt to a contract as the result of the hit he had scdred as the dance star of the Broadway stage production, "Oklahoma." Previously he had been a featured dancer in the Ballett Russe de Monte Carlo. Since his first film appearance in "To-night and Every Night," he has also completed a role in "Tars and Spars," a musical screen version of the U.S. Coast Guard.
