Vetel'inary advice was sought imniediatelv the discovery was made, and Worthy Gold apjieared to be a" little better later iu the day, although he had no chancc of fallcing 'his place in the field. He did an cxcellcnt trial run on Friday afternoon, and the Southern horseiiiun, A. Holmes, who drove Local Gold to victory on Saturday, was somewhat confident -of taking the double.
