WELLINGTON, May 19. The latest montlily figures released by the Rehabilitation Department slibw a considerable advance in tlie area of land acquired for settlement of former members of tlie armed forces. March acrpiisitions of 28,334 acres bring the crrrent total to 2(5(5;415 acres. Some 210,373 acres have been acquired undei tlie authority of the Small Farms Act 45,451 acres .under section 51. of the Servicemens Settlement and Land Sale? Act, and 10,491 acres under Part.II. oi the same act. The last named total if made up of 116 single unit purchasef and 45 larger propcrties,, the whole making 233 single unit farms providec under this division of activitv alone A1 though tliere is no large area like the 21,055 acres purchased at Ooromande in February, tlie March acquisitions in clude one of over 3000 acres, and sev eral of over 2000 acres.
