^ ITntil the end of March £25,-lSS,G25 had been authorised for the purposes of tlie Rehabilitation Board in the re-es-tablishment in civil life of fornier men and women of the Armed Eorces. Of that amount £4,2.18, 7S4 was for the purt'hase and developmont of lands for sottlement by servicernen, while £227,042 was for assistance afforded ]\taori ex-servicemeu- and women cither by. the IMaori Rehabilitation Pinance CQmmittcp or under the Native Land Act of 1916. Apart from this, ni{inv Maoris have been assisted under ihe general rehabilitation scheme in the same way as pakelias. Authorisations for rehabilitation loans and otlier financial assistance amounted to £18,294,16(5, for trade and occupational training £1,690,9SS, for farin training £141,317, education £433,907, blindod servicemen £21,065, grants to.Disabled 8ervicemen 's Reestablishmont League £*52,000, special giants £17,834, rehabilitation allowances £534,273 , intennediate scheme (for tomporarilv disabled men) £15,60(5 payments towards servicemen 's travel- | iing exfensos, removals, etc., £18,939, ox-chaiige on overscas separation allowances £704.
