Important steps were taken at the nieeting of the Hawke's Bay Joekey t'lul) comniittee yesterdav, wlien it was decided to inerease the stakes for the Hawke's Bay Steepleeliase to £1000, to reinstare an ohl-time classie in the Hawke's Bay Guineas and to inelude on ee again tlie Hastings Stakes on the club's 1040 Spring nieeting. Kutries for the 1040 Guineas, the stake for whicli will be £000, are to be invited for horses whicli are now two-year-old, and for 1047 Guineas for horses which are now yearlings. The slake for the Hastings Stakes will bc £100.
