A decrease of 949 butter' coupons and an increase of 1(501 nrodt coupons was- i'ecorded for the week'ended ]\londay, in tlie campaign to save more food for Britain by tlie voluntary surrender of coupons. Butter coupons surrendered totalled 11,577 compared with 12,52(3 tlie prcvious week. Meat coupons saved totalled 223,342 compared with 221,741. 1'he week endcd Mondav was the lifth week of tlie campaign. Dnring that period 1,085,537 coupons have been saved of which just over 1,000, 000 were meat coupons. The chai'rman of the National Famine Emergencv Committee, 'Mr. Smallwood, said this evening this meant a week 's extra ration for 150,000 people. "The four-week ration period we are now starting, " said M r. fSmallwood, "I want to be a reeord for sacrifice. The National Committee wants an all-out ell'ort to at least double our figures.
