Having filled the post of executive officer on H.M.N.Si Philomei Since 1943, Commander j. G. Hilliard, D.S.Ci, R.N.Z.N.V .R., of Audkland, retired at the end of last week and is returning to civilian life, His place is being taken by Lieut.Commander J. D. Kay, R.N.Z.N. Lieut.-COmmander Kay served overseas on small ships early in the War and later he was stationed at Sydney as New Zealand Navy iiaison officer. Mr. G. M, D. Roberts (last Squadfon Leader, R.A.F,) has fc»een appointed Public Relations Officer on the staff of the High Corhmisdioner for the tlnited Kingdom in NeW Zealand, and is expected to take up his duties ' in the lgtter part of. May, Mr, Raberts* who was oorn and educated in New Zealand, joined the Royal Air Force. in 1937. After a period in which he Was engaged ih full sqUadron flying duties, he Was grounded as a result of an accident and posted to admihistrative posts. He held various admihistrative poSts in the R.A.F. during the war> at home and abfoad, attaihing the rank of jSqUadron Leader. Mr. Roberts, Who ig married, Will ' be joined by his Wife later.
