LONGEST TOW IN SHIPPING HISTORY

The longest tow of its kind in the history of shipping, ended when the Norwegian factory ship Pelagos safely brought the vessel Antaretic to harbour after towing her disahled ! 3000 miles through fierce gales, from the whaling grounds. The Pelagos may receive up to £3000 salvage for her 25 days' work since April 11, when the Antaretic 's rudder was smashed and propeller damaged by packice.
