i Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, advise that supplies of passionfruit, Chinese gooseberries, tree tomatoes and persimmons have come forward more freely this period, values remaining very steady, particularly for passionfruit. Cape gooseberries have also been sOught, while a keen enquiry has existed for grvapes. Tomatoes have been easier of sale, but chestnuts and walnuts have sold readily. Larger quantities of flowers have been offered and popular varieties have met with enquiries at slightly reduced rates. Vegetable auctions have been well attended, most lines ■being in demand. Smaller . yardings ! of poultry have been offered, but as | is seasonal, values have been inclined to ease excepting for prime birds.
