WELLINGTON, May 8. A trough of low pressure is moving slovvly eastwards off the North Island, while an anticyclone extends across the Tasman Sea towards New Zealand. The forecast to 5 p.m. on Thursday is for light to moderate variable winds, southerly direcr . tions gradually prevailing. Unsettled weather with occasional rain to-day, but only a few isolated showers in the north tomorrow. Temperatures cool.. Further outlook: Fine.
