Personal Mr. Tom Smith, who has been on t holiday in the Taranaki district, has returned to Otaki. The engagement ' has been hnnounced between Elsie Eileen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Neville, of Ohau, to Lawrence William Perfect, second son of the iate Mr. F. Perfect and Mrs. F. G. Gleeson, of Opotiki. Otaki Races Nominations for the Otaki races, which are to be held on May 18, closed with the secretary, Mr. N. Winiata, on Monday night, and proved very gratifying. The class of horse entered is quite good, ahd the meeting should be very successful.
