The salary of the^ v^i-i! ductor would be £150 a year. The-' questionsjDf the status of the band as a muhicipal band and affiliation with the New Zealand BrasV Bands' Association were held over until the next meeting. It was decided to invite citizens to become honorary members of che band with an annual subscripfcion of 10s 6d, thus assisting the main. function of the Citizens' Committee, which was to support the oand financially. At the first practice of the band, held on May 1, there was an attendance of 18 members. There are already 22 players in the band who have had previous band experience, ' in addition to a number of learners.
