The Last Round-up
A recommendation that the South Canterbury Catchment Board investigate the possibilitieS" of using an aeroplane to round up geese, which were proving a pest in some localities, was made by the board's pastoral liaison officer (Mr. C. J. Kerr) . He said thut runholders in the Glenrock, Lake Heron and the Mesopotamia district were anxious to co-operate in any suggestions which the board might make for the destruction of the geese. It waS decided to find out if a 'plane could be hired and if the runholders would bear part of the expense.
