The first Levin Company had to go into recess for the lack of a Guider, but fortunately for a few months ohly. The second Levin, Horowhenua College Company, closed down at the end of the Christmas term, and with the changes in . the college time-table, it was doubtful whether it would be able to open again. The third Levin Company was still in recess follbwing the ioss of its acting-captain, Miss Kelly. Miss Green had taken her place, but had now gone to live at Wanganui. The Brownie pack had a successful year, in spite of a change of leadership. "During November we were visited by Mrs. Mills and our District Commissioner, Mrs. Gibbons," said the report. "Miss Mills gave a most interesting talk on the Guide's International Service, telling tif the Guider team that the New Zealand. Guide Movement was sending to Greece to assist UNRRA. To raise funds for the team, our Guide Companies organised and ran a shop day, which resulted in a sum of £10 being, raised for the team, as well as £3 2s 6d, the result of individual efforts of Guides and Brownies. "The thanks of the committee are due to Mr. D. P. Todd, for the use of his office for meetings; Mr. Collett, for his offer of assist, ance in signalling instruction and the use of equipment; to the Levin Borough Council, for permission to hold a shop day; to the Press, for their continued generosity in publishing our reports. , We sincerely thank all those who are so kindly helping us by acting as examiners for the Guide and Brownie badges, and also Mr. Haley for auditing our accounts " The president also thanked all those attehding the meeting, thus assuring the association of their interest and support.
