The second series of games in the HoroWhenua -Rugby Union's championshjps were played in fine and sunny weather on Saturday. In the senior eompetiticn Athletic, by .beating Hui Mai on the lattef's own ground, lifted the McLennan and Easton Challenge Cups, which ,they will hokl until suffering reverse ;on their home ground. Shannon aird Wanderers seiiiors also secured wins at the expense of Otaki and Rahui respectively, while Foxton had a bye. In the nonthern division of the junior championship, Athletic and Wanderers were suecessfiil over Shannon and Tokomaru respectively, Waimeha, Rahui and Paraparaumu were -the winniirg teams in the southern section, defeating Hui Mai, Otaki , Paraparaumu. The third grade competition commenced on Saturday, Gollege A, College B and Shannon returning first-gume honours from Foxton, Athletic and Rahui.
