SLAUGHTEKING OF BCTCHER'S SIOCK • - . At the Stipreme Court, Palmerston North, yesterday an interim in junction was gl'anted against the Levin Borough Cottttcil, its agents and ser- „ vants, ordering the council to keeo its abattoirs at Levin available for the slaughter of the stock of Mr. R. L. Everton' until ihe further order of the court. The injunction is the result of a letter which the council recently wrote to Mr. Everton, informing him that none of his stock would be killed after May 1946, unless he caused the whole of his stock to be killed « in Levin and not part only as. at presenf. The injunction restrains the council from actiiig on this letter unless and until the order is set aside. At the hearing Mr. N. M. Thomson appeared for Mr. Everton in support of the riiotion for an injunction.
