AUCKLAND, May L Forcing the bars of the Huntly lockup soon after he'had been arrested on a charge of housebreaking on Tuesday night, a Maori labourei.4 Jack Matthews, aged 25, escaped from eustody and was still at large late tonight. Matthews was put in the lockup at 9.4-5 and apparently escaped almost immediately as when a constable returned half an hour later, ^ie had gone.
