MURPHY MAY ACCEPT AN • AUSTRALIAN CONTRACT
By Telegraph 4
WELLINGTON, May 2. Authority to negotiate for a trip to Australia by Bos Murphy, under contract to fight for Stadiums, Ltd., has been received by Walter Miller, 'the well-known wrestling manager, wljo immediately discussed the matter with Mr. P. Galvin, Murphy's manager. , . . . . "We have certainly had a very attr'a'ctive offer," said Mr. Galvin to-ddy, "so attractive we have asked Mr. Miller to obtain further details. Murphy may go to Australia fairly shortly, probably, within two or three months, and meet ' three welter-weights. We think the third of them should be Tommy Burns,' who was recently beaten by Patrick. Wq do.not wan.t to go to Australia without 'knowing our programme in adv&nce. However, the offer' looks good enough to be responsible for keeping Murphy in the game a while longer. We feel he should have an opportunity to gain further experience and toughen up before meeting; for exampie, a southpaw as tough- at Patrick. * = "We are confident that when Murphy 'does meet Patrick again he will substantiate Mr. Stewart's verdict," said 'Mr.' Galvin. He added that he recognised Mr. Miller had full authority to negotiate on behalf of Stadiums, Ltd., and he wouid conduct all the business with him..
