The Governor- General Lieut.General Sir Bernard.-Freyberg, was elected patron of the New Zealand Rugby Foqtball Union at to-day's annual meeting on the motion of the chairman of the council, Mr. S. S. Dean. The Air Department regrets to announce that Flight Lieutenant Cecil William-Nevill Wright, a memY bets of No. 14 R.N.Z.A.F. Squadron in Japan, lost his life in an aircraft accident at Iwa Kuni airfield on April 20. His next of kin is his wife, Mrs. A. M. Wright, of Panmure, Auckland. An announcement that Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park would visit New Zealand this month, was made yesterday by the Minister of Defence, Hon. F. Jones. Sir Keith will be aecompanied by Lady Park who will represent the British Red Cross. "Sir Keith is a distinguished New Zealander," said the Minister, "who has long eherished a desire to revisit his homeland and would hav£ done so long before now had not the war intervened. He was born at Thames and when he arrives will be making his return after a period of thirty-three years."
