MR. AND MRS. G. L. ADKIN At a meeting of the Levin Native Flora Ciub last week members took che opportunity of farewelling Mr. and ivlrs. G. L. Adkin, who have since left this district. Mr. Adkin was a vice-president of the club, having always taken a keen interest m ali its activities. The president (Mr. I. D. Parsons) remarked on the loss sustained by the club in the- departure of Mr. and MrS. Adkin, and referred to the occasion as a break in tne happy iife of the club. Mr. Adkin had been the leader of the first outing of the club, which had been a pamcularly enjoyable one. In wishing Mr. and Mrs. Adkin every success for the future, Mr. Parsons presented them with a fruit bowl of native woods as a token of the esteem in which they were held by the club. In reply, Mr. Adkin tendered his good wishes to the club, ahd expressed the opinion that its activities combined pleasure and information in a delightful manner. He commended all efforts to preserve what remained of our beautiful native bush, and concluded with the hope that he and Mrs. Adkin would be able to renew their associations with the club from time to time. To mark the occasion all those present signed their names on the underside of the bowl, and proceedings came to a close with the serving of supper.
