CHRISTCHURCH, April 23. J". L. Blair had a conifort'alble win ovcr A. Y. Johnston . in the final of the South Jsland golf championship at Shirley today. Johnston was in trouble with liis tee shots throughout the game but in 'tlie first half made sorne fine rccovcries. With five suecessive oneputt greens, he was oue up at the turn. Blair eame home in 37 to lead two up aftcr the morning round. In the afternoon Johnston 's onlv win was at the -2(Jth. Blair turned for home tliree up and sank very long putts for wius at threo of the next ■four holes, taking the game six up and live. .Blair was only oue ovcr par for the last seven holes.
