a-Nnual' game drAwn in the annual match for the Tatum Cup, played on Saturday, between Hui Mai (Manakau) and Athletie (Wellington), both teams scored six points each. The game was very fast, and both sides attempted to exploit op,en play iri spit-e of the slippery ball. There was no seore at half-time, but on the resumption, J. Halversen opened Athletic's account with a- good penalty, which Hui- Mai evened shortly after with a penalty by Rangi Whetu. No .further score was made till nearirig^ the erid- of the match, when Athletie dribbled from a ruck on- Hui Mai's tWerity-live to score. Hui Mai, however, kept up the pressure and v/'ere fewarded with a fine try by Cook rigiit ori' the eall of tinle. The.kick narrowly misSed ahd thedinal score was six all, giving a faif indicatipn of the run of .play. Mr. B. Boyd capdbly cdntroiled the game. Mr. Brown, manager of the Athletie team, made a gesture of goodwill by asking' the' Htii Mai club to accept the cup for this year even thpugh Athletie we'fe the previous hdiclefs. .
