POROUTAWHAO'S MEETING
There was a good at'tendance at the April meeting of the Poroutawhao Womeh's Institute heid recently, and members -spent an instructiVe and plea-sant. afternodh. Deiegates for thc annual counCil meeting . (Mesdames Earie and Hahnam) and the Dominioh Cpnference (Mrs. Scott) were appointed. A lecture on "More Uses for Wobl , on the Farm" was delivered with the "assistance of literature aiid material supplied by MassCy Cdllegfe. A competition brganised .by Mifes Arcus was won by Mrs. Scott. Otlifer CPmpetition winners were:— Apple Jelly: Mrs. Speirs 1, Mrs. Tabor/2, Mrs. Graham 3. Cream crackerfe: Misses Garle and Scott. Scst bldOfn: Miss S. Scott and Mrs. Carle. Best shrub: Mrs. Graham. Best vegetable: Mesdames Carle and Graham. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Old and Penny and Mifcs Scott. It was decided to hold a dance in the Poroutawhao Hall on the night of Easter Saturday to raise funds for institute activities.
