PARAPARAUMU NOTES

(From "Chronicle" Correspondent) The Napier express met with a most unusual accident at Pukerua on Monday. The draw-bar was pulled from the fourth carriage, which automatically stopped the train. Four carriages were brought on into Paekakariki and the engine returned to pick up the remaining eight carriages. The train was 1 hr. 20 mins. late in leaving Paekakariki. The aftermath of the southerly on Monday was a frost that made its presence felt among the frost tender plants of the garden.
