HUTT TEAMS PLAY: OTAKI Baseball at its -best. was seen. at Otaki Domain on Saturday", When' visiting teams from 'tlie Hutt* Valley played Otaki teams.- Probably owing to transport difficulties, the Levin players. who were to (play in the Horowhenua ' representatives were not present, so the Otaki players fielded a team against them and made a good 'showing. - : i-. - •The -first' game in the piorning between Kutt ladies and Otaki ladies" resulted in a win for Otaki after an exciting game, the score being even up till the last innings, when Otaki scored the winning run. The game ended 10 — 9. In the afternoon Hutt "A" played Otaki men in a low-scoring game, both teams playing good baseball with excellent fielding. Otaki's batting was a little better than Hutt, and they came out winning 5 — 1. The game between Hutt "B" and Otaki men was also a good one. Although not quite so evenly contested, it provided some- entertaining play. .-Otaki again annexed the honours, winning by 13 — 5. These games give a good indication of the strength of basebah in this1 district, and point to the bright chances of Horowhenua in the New Zealand championships next season.
