RETURNING FROM INDIA

The New Zealand horseman, J. MeParlane, who, with W. J. Stevens, took a consignment of thoroughbreds to India, has found the heat of India too trying, more partieularly as he has been suffering from an old internal trouble. Private advice stat'es that McParlane has been riding in India and was associated with a winner. An attractive retainer was offered him, but he would uot accept. He had entertained hopes of going to South Afriea, where he followed his profession aome years ago, but the racing authorities in that country are not issuing any further licenees meantime. Consequentlv, McParlane will return to the Dominion, althougli he will spend some time in Australia in order to place himself under #a specialist. 1
