observaNce in shannon The following arrangements were made for Anzac.Day, at the.annual meeting of the Shannon Returned Services. Association on Saturday evening. It was agreed that all organisations be asked to attend the Anzac service. to. be .held in the Renown Theatre on. Anzac Day; Thursday, April . 25. Members were reminded of the dinner. to be giVeri by . members of • ,the, Shannon Women's Institute, to :all returned personnel in: the Druids' Hall followlhg the servicd.- r ' - The.: president, Mr, S. W. Barber, asked all members to advise the secretary as to whether they would be attending • the dinner. or not, as it would give the ladies some idea of the number they had to cater for. It was also decided to ask Mr. S. H. Roberts to act as officer commanding the Anzac parade. The Horowhenua Highland Band and a bugler have been engaged for the parade and -the service. Messrs. S. W. Barber, J. Ritchie, R. Quinlin and B. Clayton were appointed to attend the school children's service, to be held at the school at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24.
