ARMED GANGS TERRORISE BURMA
Received Sundav 7 p.m. LONDON, April 13. Organised gnngs armed with weapons left over from the war, are causing the greatest erime wave in Burma's history, says Reut'ers Rangoon corresponden-t. Daeoits systematicaHy raid police posts and villages and some even ambush traffic escorted by armed police. Holdups and robberies have inereasea twelvefold. There are already twice. as many murders in 3 946 as in the whole of 1941.
