RESEARCH IN AGRICULTURE
Tlie rapid expansion of research work in all branehes of agriculture — in keeping with New Zealand's increasing importance as a food-exporting country — has brought many inquiries from exservicemen and civilians alike, as to professional appointments which may become available to those who combine praetieal farming experien'ce with intensive courses of study. An attempt to answer tliese questions in a comprehensive way has been made by Massey Agricultural College in a brochure entilled "Professional Appointments in Agriculture." The qualifications necessary to gain- a degree in agriculture, and the avenues (togetlier with their usual commencing salaries) open to the liolders of.degrees, are set out. Mention is made also of the professional positions to which shorter courseS in agriculture, wool-classing, mi'lk proeessing, herd-recording, horticulture and poultry-farming may lead.
