Jnited Nations General Assembly, on j rebruary 9, 1948, without a dissenting \ vote, condemned the Pascist rogime in | Spain as having been founded 'with j jiie support of the y\xis Powers', and ! oanned it from memhership of United Nations on the ground that 'it did not possess hy reason of its origin, its cecord, and its . close association with j the aggressor States, the qualifications ! aecessary to justify admission'. "The Asseznbly also recommended ! that United Nations take this resolu- ! tion into account in conducting future J relations with Spain. Article Two of the Charter, paragraph 8, provides that United Nations shall ensure that States which are not mem- 1 bers of United Nations shall act in 1 accordance with the principles of the Crganisation as far as may be necessary fcr the maintsnance of interna- j tional peace and securitv."
